Of buses and trains

Hey Mom, why didn't you tell me?
Why didn't you teach me a thing or two?
You just let me go, out into the world,
You never thought to share what you knew.

(Chorus):
So I walked under a bus,
I got hit by a train,
Keep fallin' in love,
Which is kind of the same,
I've sunk out at sea, crashed my car, gone insane,
And it felt so good, I wanna do it again.

Hey Mom, why didn't you warn me?
'Cause about boys there's something I should have known,
They're like chocolate cake, like cigarettes,
I know they're bad for me but I just can't leave 'em alone.

(Repeat Chorus)

Hey Mom, since we're talkin',
What was it like when you were young?
Has the world changed or is still the same?
A man can kill and still be the sweetest fun.

My cooking style

I laughed so hard when a friend sent me this picture. This is SO ME! Haha.

I started cooking meals at home early this year after I stopped working. I love cooking especially those that I love to eat. Haha.

Marunong akong magluto pero takot ako sa tumatalsik na mantika. Horror! Fried pork chop is one of the easiest dish to prepare but it's also a hassle when it comes to cooking. Bongga ang talsik ng mantika especially pag malapit na maluto. Not just with pork but also with fish. All things fried actually. So ang ginagawa ko, naghahanap ako ng pinakamalaking takip ng kaldero at ginagawa kong shield. Nakakatawa pala yung itsura. Haha!

The Fort incident

Read this from twitter and I hope you warn your families and friends. Please be extra careful when taking public transportation especially when you're traveling alone. Take note of the cab's plate number and text it to a family member or to a friend.

---

"I am grateful to be alive. On my way home, I was robbed. They took everything--- my laptop, my ATM and credit cards, all identification cards, money, and even my books and notebooks for school. Thankfully, I had loaned my phone to a friend who was slated to go out of town.

I boarded a cab, locked the doors, but the cabbie was part of the modus. Ten minutes had not even passed when two men were let in the cab. One rode on the passenger's seat while the other sat next to me. I was pushed to the floor. The man then covered my head with a black cloth. Both men demanded that I give them my bank passwords, and so I did. Out of panic, I had given the incorrect pin numbers. They hurt me and threatened to kill me because they thought I was fooling them. They never took off the black cloth so I never knew where I was the whole time.

When they were successful in withdrawing all my money, they said they'd let me go. Black fabric over my head, they tried to grope me. I resisted and they hurt me more. They hit me in the head and legs several times. In the calmest voice I can muster, I bargained. I did not want these men to smell my fear; they might push me even more to do things I did not want to do. I just kept on resisting until they gave up.

It was a long cab ride. I did not know where I was. Finally, the cab stopped. The men told me to not scream or run when I got off, or else they would shoot me. They pushed me out of the cab and sped away. I had no idea where I was.

The first thing I thought when I was freed was, "Anak, I will go home to you." To be honest, I didn't think this would be possible. I was already ready to die. In my mind, I had said all my farewells all my wishes for those I love and care for. That I had escaped this is nothing short of a miracle.

I walked in this dark warehouse area until I saw the highway. From The Fort, they had taken me to Cubao. I sought the help of a jeepney driver and his wife; they brought me to the nearest police station.

What happened to me has been reported. The police told me that two similar cases happened today, but those other women were not very lucky--- they were both beaten and raped.

This is not a meme. This happened to me, your friend. To all of you who work late, please take great care. Pass this around if you must-- I do not want this happening to anybody else, especially my friends.

I am grateful to have survived this with only a few cuts and bruises. I am so grateful to live another day to spend with my child.
I am safe now and is staying in my adopted family's home.

Dennis Martin Perocho, Amie Perez--- please do not go home. They took my house keys too and have our address. I'd rather be cautious, because you'll never know what they'd do."

The Newsroom; The pursued and the pursuer

Finished watching season 1 of The Newsroom last night. Very interesting show. It's a drama show but from time to time some of the casts throw funny lines to each other and it sure do have witty characters. Aside from politics and the what's-actually-happening-inside-a-newsroom, what makes you or me want to watch The Newsroom is the "pursued and the pursuer" thing going on between the main characters.

I officially love Aaron Sorkin.

I hope to see more of Olivia Munn in season 2. That Sloan chick rocks!

PS. Since episode 1 i didnt like Maggie. After the season finale, i still dnt like her. Is that really her character, to be that annoying? If yes, then good job to Allison Pill. ;)

To The Virgins, To Make Much of Time

By: Robert Herrick

GATHER ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying :
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer ;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may go marry :
For having lost but once your prime
You may for ever tarry.

Thank you, Aaron Sorkin for introducing this wonderful poem to me.

aka Serena Vander Woodsen & Hanna Marin

Several weeks ago, I caught an episode of gossip girl on tv and saw Serena's iphone case. Loved it immediately. I love its unique design. Googled the name of the case and found out that it's called GoIncase Bird's Nest Snap On Case. The original case was a bit expensive so I opted for the rip off. ;) Found an online seller and we met up at VCruz LRT station. I was so happy the moment I lay may hands on it

A few weeks after that, I watched Pretty Little Liars and saw Hannah's case. Whoa! :) This time the online seller which I bought the gray case from didn't have the pink one so I decided to look it up on ebay. Glad there was someone who ships it for free to the Philippines even for an item that would only costs $2.

xoxo,
