Bought this book by accident. I went to the bookstore yesterday to buy the 5th book of George RR Martin, A Feast For Crows. When I saw that both The Perks and AFFC were on sale I did bought the two. :)
I finished the book today.
It was a challenge reading the first few pages of the The Perks maybe because it was narrated in a letter form, which i just learned that it's called epistolary novel. I tried reading until page 50 because I read somewhere that to know if you're interested in the book you must read at least the first 50 pages of it. So i did. Fortunately I got hooked and almost finished it sunrise. :p
I am not good at giving book/movie reviews because I do have hard time explaining things in general. :p But I really do like this book. I felt like after reading it i personally know every characters in the story especially Charlie.
Here are the few quotes from the book.
Sometimes people use thought to not participate in life.
We accept the love we think we deserve.
Old pictures look very rugged and young, and the people in the photograph always seem a lot happier than you are.
And all you want is to always feel happy for them because you know that if you do, then it means you're happy, too.
I realized at that moment that i really did love her. Because there was nothing to gain, and that didn't matter.
